The HP ProBook 440 G7 8GB 1TB CORE I7
HP has presented its 14-inch office notebook with a new case and the most up-to-date Intel processor available. Some of its predecessor’s weaknesses have clearly been corrected, but does this mean that the current ProBook 440 G7 is better than the last?
The HP ProBook 440 G7 is “an affordable combination of innovations as well as security and multimedia functions” for small to medium-sized companies and business professionals. Our HP ProBook 440 G7 is equipped with an Intel Core i7-1065U that is based on Whiskey Lake architecture. The 14-inch device has 8 GB of RAM and should therefore easily manage to keep several applications running simultaneously. The 1-TB SSD also enables users to store large sets of data locally. The display is a matte Full HD panel. This configuration is available at an affordable price.
The dominating colors of the HP ProBook 440 G7 are silver and black. While these were already used on the predecessor, the current device only has a black plastic display frame. The cover of the base unit is silver, which largely improves the overall impression this device gives.
Overall, the device looks more modern, probably due to its smaller size. The bezels are relatively narrow and HP has made good use of the available space. The opening angle is quite wide at around 180°, although this will hardly ever be needed in everyday use. Nonetheless, we are happy with the hinges, which hold the display in place with only minimal wobbling, while still being easy to adjust. We even managed to open the device with one hand despite its relatively low weight.
